Né le 5 mai 1927 à Luvaka, Dombasi a grandi dans un village où l’écologie et la biodiversité sont prédominantes. À une époque marquée par la colonisation belge, il a vécu, comme ses compatriotes, les répercussions de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale et les défis de travailler dur dans un Congo africain sous influence occidentale.

C'est dans l'immobilier qu'il a bâti sa fortune, avec l’Hôtel Dombazi en ville comme parfait exemple de son succès. L'industrie hôtelière en RDC, bien que florissante à Kinshasa, reste en développement dans d'autres villes.

À Mbanza-Ngungu, dans la province du Kongo Central, l'hôtel DOM Cataractes, appartenant au Groupe Dombasicongo, se distingue par un service exceptionnel et un accueil de qualité qui contribuent au développement touristique de la région.

L’hôtel DOM, ainsi que l’Immo DOM, sont présents à Kinshasa et aspirent à s'étendre à Matadi, Boma et Moanda, enrichissant ainsi le patrimoine paradisiaque du Kongo Central.

Fondé par Oscar Dombasi Zikumvala Masiditewa et inauguré en 1967, le Groupe Dombascongo est aujourd'hui dirigé par Georges Dombasi. Il continue de prospérer sans recourir à des crédits bancaires, témoignant de la solidité et de l'autonomie financière de l'entreprise.

Dombasi a laissé derrière lui un consortium florissant, le groupe Dombasi, et un héritage d'éducation et de valeurs humaines. Avec sa femme Aviti Muvia Henriette, ils ont inculqué à leurs enfants la gestion prudente et les valeurs morales. Inspiré par des nations telles que le Japon et l'Allemagne, Dombasi a investi discrètement dans l'éducation de nombreux jeunes Congolais.

Parmi ses réalisations, on compte la première usine de soudure en Afrique Centrale, une société immobilière, une usine de fabrication de briques, une entreprise d'électricité et de génie civil, une société de couture, la construction d'un pipeline entre Kinshasa et Matadi, et la première usine de peinture Peinture Dombazi. Son groupe a également investi dans le commerce général, une société de taxis et des hôtels de renommée internationale.

Sa réussite repose sur l'audace, une observation aiguë de l'évolution du Congo et une psychologie pratique dans la gestion de ses affaires. Il a maintenu les valeurs ancestrales de solidarité, de respect et d'intégrité tout en naviguant dans le monde des affaires.

Clément Djimogne alias Mystic Djim : L’homme qui a révolutionné l’enregistrement et la production musicale au Cameroun

L’oubli est la ruse du diable!

Clément Djimogne est un personnage atypique, un artiste complet et pluriel qui a marqué considérablement de son empreinte l’univers musical Camerounais. Il a un joué un rôle important dans l’éclosion de plusieurs rythmes.

C’est l’histoire d’un jeune élève du lycée classique de Bafoussam qui décide contre l’avis de tout le monde d’abandonner ses études pour se consacrer à la musique. Après un premier 45 tours édité chez Sonafric, il décide de quitter le Cameroun et d’aller en aventure. Destination le Nigeria. Il décide sur un coup de tête d’aller tenter l’aventure nigériane en compagnie de quelques copains.

Du Nigeria, il parcourt toute la côte ouest-africaine en jouant dans un groupe appelé The Mighty Flames (Les flammes puissantes). Pendant plusieurs années, il va côtoyer les deux grandes sommités de la musique nigériane de cette époque que sont Fela Kuti et Sonny Okosun. Il est leur collaborateur le plus proche.

Une nuit, lors d’un songe, il reçoit l’appel de ses ancêtres qui lui demandent de retourner à la maison dans son Bafoussam natal. Du jour au lendemain, Mystic Djim plie ses bagages, destination le Cameroun. Malgré les supplications de Fela Kuti et Sonny Okosun, Mystic Djim ne reviendra pas sur sa décision. Fela et surtout Okosun, étaient très tristes de le voir partir.

Mystic Djim retourne au Cameroun en 1979 avec dans sa valise l’album Money Make Man Mad qui connut un succès retentissant au Nigeria notamment à travers le titre virevoltant Africa.

De retour au Cameroun, il continue la musique et s’installe à Yaoundé. En 1983, il forme le groupe Mystic Djim and the Spirits dont le premier album Fire Largeau contient le célèbre titre Yaoundé Girls.

Mystic Djim abandonne peu à peu la guitare, les percussions et le chant pour se consacrer aux arrangements et à la production. Le métier d’ingénieur de son s’impose à lui comme une révélation. Il s’agit du métier qu’il avait pratiqué aux côtés de Fela Kuti au Nigeria. En tant qu’ingénieur de son, il réalise les choses avec une facilité déconcertante et ses oreilles perçoivent avec perfection la justesse des sons.

Au milieu des années 80, il lance un concept novateur en créant un studio d’enregistrement mobile qui fera sa réputation. En effet, il achète un très bon enregistreur à 4 pistes, plusieurs instruments, des amplificateurs et crée un studio mobile qu’il installe dans son salon. Il s’entoure d’une équipe chevronnée de musiciens et peut à présent se lancer dans la production musicale. Avec son modeste enregistreur à 4 pistes, il réalise des enregistrements de qualité supérieure à ceux des grands studios d’enregistrement.

Peu à peu, sa réputation commence à se répandre comme une traînée de poudre dans la cité capitale. Clément Djimogne alias Mystic Djim a joué un rôle non négligeable dans l'éclosion du Bikutsi au Cameroun. Au milieu des années 80, le studio de Mystic Djim était devenu une place incontournable pour plusieurs artistes Bikutsi de Yaoundé. Avec un matériel modeste, ses productions et ses arrangements étaient meilleurs que ceux qui provenaient du studio de la radio nationale. On doit à son légendaire studio mobile : N'nom Wom de Zélé Le Bombardier, Femme Cocue de Biba Bifana ou encore Thermomètre de K-tino. Clément Djimogne a travaillé avec plusieurs artistes Bikutsi : Atebass, Les Daltons, Rantamplan, Owona Anderson, Zangalewa, Mbarga Soukous, Sala Bekono, Tino Baroza, Gilbratar Drakus, Ebogo Emérent et plus récemment Patou Bass.
Il a aussi enregistré des chanteurs Makossa

Au-delà du rôle fondamental qu’il a joué pour asseoir la notoriété du Bikutsi, Mystic Djim est un précurseur du Reggae au Cameroun et un chanteur engagé. Dans ses chansons, il dénonce la guerre, prône la paix et l’amour, affiche son soutien aux pauvres qui ont faim, appelle aux Etats-Unis d’Afrique. Son voyage en Afrique de l’Ouest a forgé et développé sa conscience panafricaine.

En 2009, un accident de moto l’arrache du monde des vivants. Il avait 54 ans et laisse une veuve éplorée et sept enfants.

Née à Yaoundé, dans la région du centre Teety Tezano est originaire de la [Menoua (Cameroun) dans la région de l'Ouest Cameroun. Elle est la cinquième enfant dans une fratrie de 7 enfants[3]. Elle est la fille du célèbre chanteur camerounais de Rumba et Soukouss, Johnny Tezano légende des années 80 et 90.

Teety Tezano commence sa carrière dans la musique en 2006 en tant que chanteuse principale du groupe Kit Kat Girls qu'elle forme avec deux autres chanteuses, Sonia et Erna[8]. Leur premier single intitulé Super girl, sorti en 2006 est un hit[9]. En 2008, lors de l'édition 2008 du festival annuel Couleurs Urbaines, Teety Tezano reçoit le prix de la meilleure découverte hip-hop camerounais de l'année[2]. Durant cette première phase de sa carrière, Teety présente également de nombreuses collaborations avec des artistes de renomm tels que Krotal, le chanteur de Reggae Sultan Oshiminh, le groupe Macase et un rappeur américain dénommé J. Kad[10].

Elle intègre le collectif Hip Hop Développé à sa création en 2011 et se produit sur des nombreuses scènes nationales et internationales aux côtés des autres membres du collectif dont Danielle Eog avec qui elle réalise le single Hold on sister[11].

Après quelques années de silence, elle revient en 2015, avec le single So in love, une ballade Soul qui connait un certain succès[12]. Il s'ensuit des tournées avec le collectif Hip Hop Développé, donc des spectacles aux éditions 2015, 2016, et 2017 du marché des arts du spectacle africain (MASA). Elle représentera le Cameroun cette année encore à l'édition 2018 qui se tient du 10 au 17 mars à Abidjan[13].

Portée par cette famille musicale, Teety propose en parallèle plusieurs singles dont Unstoppable, produit en collaboration avec le producteur Djess Panébo. Cette chanson sera l’hymne officiel de l'opérateur de télécommunications MTN Cameroon de 2012 à 2013[10].

Elle a annoncé en 2017, la sortie prochaine de son album Tough and Tender[14]. Elle enchaine les collaborations dont une avec Baba Maal et une free session avec l’artiste anglaise Joss Stone dans le cadre de sa tournée mondiale dénommée Total World tour[15]. Elle dévoile progressivement son premier album dont le premier titre So in love, est sorti en 2015 et le second single afropop intitulé Swagga, est sorti en mars 2017[16].

En Juin 2018, elle rejoint la branche ivoirienne du label discographique Sony Music Entertainment et sort en Septembre 2018 un nouveau single intitulé Moni Money[17],[18].

Histoire de #MtnCameroon 🌟

Elle est née le 15 février 2000, du rachat par le groupe sud-africain MTN de la licence de Camtel Mobile. Son capital de 200 000 000 FCFA est détenu à 70 % par MTN International et à 30 % par la société camerounaise Broadband Telecom.

En mars 2015, MTN Cameroun obtient la licence 3G/4G. 💖

En 2015, une convention est signée par six banques au Cameroun pour octroyer un prêt de 60 milliards de francs CFA à MTN Cameroun. Remboursable sur cinq ans, ce prêt vise au renforcement du réseau 3G de la société.

En 2018, #MTN remporte l'édition 2015 des « 21 days of Y'ello Care » organisée par la maison mère pour récompenser l'engagement social des employés des entreprises MTN.

En février 2019, un nouveau directeur général est nommé, le Néerlandais Hendrik Kasteel.

En mai 2019 l'entreprise revendique 8,7 millions d'abonnés au Cameroun3. Elle finie par franchir la barre des 11 millions d'abonnés et porte son nombre d'abonnés à 11 millions 99 mille 576 abonnés en décembre 2021. Puis la barre des 12 millions d'abonnés en 2023.

En juillet 2019, l’Agence de régulation des télécommunications (ART) sanctionne #MTN , Orange et Nexttel, qui devront payer une amende globale de 3,5 milliards de francs CFA (environ 5,3 millions d’euros). Il leur est reproché des « manquements dans l’application de la réglementation sur l’identification des abonnés et des terminaux ».

Elle annonce le 28 février 2023 avoir traversé la barre des de 5 millions client sur son service mobile money.

I must say that I'm very disappointed in some Cameroonian bloggers who have decided to play the PR role free of charge for Eddy Kenzo's team.

Before Eddy Kenzo's manager got to you guys with the lies you people are posting, he dropped it in my inbox. I read through the story and it didn't connect. I asked him one question which was:
"what about the royalties of this chill song? What happened to the Money you people are generating from it?"
The manager refused to answer and that's where I told him to address Gasha publicly because she complained in public.

If Eddy Kenzo and team weren't guilty of anything, they would've released a press to address #Gasha and put the issue to bed. But what have they done? Snub Gasha, block platforms and accounts posting and tagging them, then moving inbox from one blog to another spreading lies.

You all are not Eddy Kenzo's PR. At times, you have to connect the dots, combine the two stories and see who is genuine and who is not. If Eddy Kenzo was genuine, he would've addressed this issue and not try to act like a fugitive.

Look at the screenshots below. That's Gasha's song which has been put on Sale by Eddy Kenzo. Do you know how much he has made for the past 9 years?

Do you people think Gasha is so generous that she'll pay $2000, transport you and your team to Cameroon, pay your accommodation and feed you for 1 week, then dash you the song to go and be making millions from it?

Do you know $2000 is above 7M Ugandan shillings?

Sylvie's blog and Mac Clint's blog I'm really disappointed in you guys. Instead of fighting for a fellow sister, you people are claiming first hand info "from Uganda to your inbox". LOL, hope Eddy Kenzo pays you guys for damage control work You've been doing for him.

All I've done these past days is dig deep for information and findings which made me realize Gasha had a case. Eddy Kenzo and the manager made it worse when they blocked Shey Waves. That's what fugitives do. Then someone told me, you're not supposed to trust a Ugandan or take their words seriously. Another person said Eddy Kenzo has been doing same to fellow countrymen.

That said, GASHA will be live on Shey Waves at 9pm tonight.

Calabash CEO Wax Dey speaks out regarding the issue between #Gasha and Eddy Kenzo and some possibilities that Gasha can get her royalties.

He wrote, “Many people don’t realize that music is an intellectual estate just as land is real estate, and in many instances, intellectual estate can be far more profitable than real estate in the short and long term. But just like real estate, it needs to be handled formally like a business. You can’t sell or buy land with a verbal agreement.

I feel really sad that our sister has had to go through what she has gone through. Please stop tagging me. She knows how to get to me if she wanted to.

Let me explain a couple of things for the benefit of all artists. A recorded song has 2 components - the Master and the Publishing. The Master is the actual recording which is being sold and the publishing is the composition (lyrics, melody, arrangements)

I have read both sides of the story and this is what I have to say:

1. Whoever paid for the recording owns the Master, that is the right to sell the song. This is tricky because if Gasha paid for the recording then it belongs to her, but if Eddy Kenzo did, then it belongs to him, even if she is the artist. If Gasha released the song in 2015 and by mutual agreement, Eddy Kenzo release it on his own platforms a year later, it implies that they might have agreed to share the Master rights (in that order). Usually, you’d expect either party to get a cut of each other’s sales, but in the absence of a written agreement (split sheet), this becomes complex and difficult to resolve. To be fair, I’d say that #Eddykenzo had to pay sales royalties to Gasha from the sales of his album (which were substantially more than Gasha sold) and vice versa. So yea, I believe Eddy a Kenzo owes Gasha some money, even in the absence of a written Agreement. The complication now arises from how to enforce it without a written agreement or in this case, his word against her word.

2.publishing is composition money you get paid when your song is streamed on Tv, radio, public venues, streaming sites or even cellphones. If someone else remixes the song, you still own their publishing. Publishing wise, they both wrote their verses. They both should share the royalties. A share should also go to who arranged the song, and the lion’s share should probably be reserved for who wrote the hook + their verse. Again, there is no split sheet, so these are issues that need to be addressed by both teams and agreed on on paper. Somewhere around 2015, I did sign a publishing deal with Gasha which was applicable retrospectively (meaning that Calabash could go in search of her publishing money and enforce the receipt thereof), but in 2016, she requested to rescind the contract, and I did not object. But it is her right and she should protect it ASAP. In Zangalewa’s case, they were not even aware, so I took it upon myself to find them and sign a publishing deal which permitted us to work on it.

Also remember this: for every sale or digital sale, even for Callertunes, you still earn a publishing royalty. So she needs to go down the rabbit hole and look for all those earnings, and while fighting, make sure that they are protected now. The song has a long lifespan. Some of those incomes should have been controlled by Gasha even if Eddy Kenzo released on his channel. Unless they had an agreement that he would claim her rights and he did. Even so, he would have to pay her her cut.

These issues are complex and it’s best to work with a lawyer or someone with knowledge when doing collaborations. You cant blame Artists for the situations - I doubt even Eddy Kenzo understood what he was doing at the time. I even have a case with a big company such as MTN now where they do not understand what is use of a split sheet on music they paid for.

And as I said, both artist teams need to establish or enforce a written agreement now because the song is still active and earning revenue. Online hype is good, but it doesn’t get money in the bank.

🟥 Problem between the artists #Gasha and #Eddykenzo .🚨

After I texted Eddy Kenzo telling him to give GASHA her royalties on her song #chill , his team reach out to me on WhatsApp and this is what they got to say 👇

"It was around 2014 or 2015(the prime times of Sitya Loss) when Eddy Kenzo met a young and talented Cameroonian lady called Gasha, her team approached him and requested that they should do a song which was agreed upon. However he was in dallas where he had to fly from to Washington for the recording, we extended his stay and the $1k her and the team paid that we hear in the accusations was for the extension of his flight because his return back home was due (he definitely had to push his stay for a sister), obviously there’s no agreement that involves money that can go undocumented, the 1k was to pay for the extension of Eddy Kenzo’s stay and for your information Eddy Kenzo’s brand was never worth 1k. Long story short, they hit the studio, vibes were high and a song called chill was created. Everyone wrote their lyrics and joined the knowledge to make sure we put out something nice that can help boost Gasha’s career.

In 2015 our team and our manager who doubles as a videographer, flew to Cameroon(at our own cost) to shoot the Chill video which was shot and directed by our manager(Martin Beta) and Chuzzi Dadido of Cameroon it was all good vibes and later that evening as we were all vibing to the song at Gasha’s home we talked about how the song will be released and it was agreed that since Eddy Kenzo has a big fanbase(numbers) this song should be released on his channel on 25th feb, 2015 and later on then coming album called Zero To Hero(which was released on 1st march, 2016) a year after she had distributed on her other streaming platforms(her release date is 3rd March 2015), we did so with one heart all in the name of helping a sister.

We had a great evening as a family and we called it a night. On our return to Uganda our manager went back with the footage we had shot and edited the video(it was all for brotherhood he wasn’t paid) we made sure it was the right video of that time and released it as agreed.

We thank God that it actually made an impact in Gasha’s career as it was the motive of the song.

It is so sad this was a verbal agreement and today it looks like her word against ours , it is now that we wish we had a written agreement.

We have been following accusations for the past 1 year and kept quiet because we thought our sister knows the truth and that all will be well and there was no need for any exchange of words, but it seems we were wrong.

However, this is all we have to say about this project and we maintain our position that we ain’t gonna exchange any words with a sister over a project that came to life with the aim of boosting a career. And we shall not fall for any blackmails attached to the accusations.

George Washington Carver had a difficult start in life. Born sometime around 1864, his father died shortly before George's birth, likely from an accident when he was out hauling wood. And only weeks after birth, slave traders kidnapped George and his mother. Rescued would not be an apt term; recovered is more appropriate. But the group sent out to find him and his mother exchanged a horse for the young boy. His mother, however, was lost to the traders. Less than two months old, and George was already an orphan.

Often sick, frail, he was not expected to live. But live he did, and from a young age, he showed much devotion to work and a desire for learning. He was curious, and as he'd roam the woods near the Carver home, exploring flowers, trees, rocks, and birds, he began asking questions about their purpose.

While much of his education early on was self-motivated, he began formal schooling at ten. He learned of a school about eight miles from the Carver home. And without any money or a new home, he left the Carver's to attend this school, living in an old barn while doing odd jobs to earn money to survive. Eventually, he was adopted into a family there.

Education for George would continue through completing a Master's Degree in agriculture from Iowa State University in 1896. After which, he took a job as Head of the Agricultural Department at the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama.

As an agricultural scientist and inventor, his goal was to help farmers improve their lives by earning more from their crops. He found hundreds of uses through his research of peanuts in particular and other products such as sweet potatoes and pecans. His work was instrumental and impactful. Between 1915 and 1918, acreage for peanut cultivation grew from half a million to over four million acres.

After George passed away in 1943, Franklin D. Roosevelt sent a message that said: "All mankind are the beneficiaries of his discoveries in the field of agricultural chemistry. The things which he achieved in the face of early handicaps will for all time afford an inspiring example to youth everywhere."

In 2015, Gasha from Cameroon invited Upandan, singer, Eddy kenzo for a collaboration. She paid for everything, flew the artist from East Africa to Cameroon for his voice and video shoot. The ***** le of the song is #chill , a hit song which later on became a classic. Gasha said she paid $2000 dollars for this collaboration and owned the song 100%.

Gasha trusted Eddy Kenzo and team to do the distribution and bring back the royalties garnered from this huge project. The song amassed huge numbers on several streaming platforms. The song is currently on more than 5 million YouTube views. A rough calculation as per the streams only on YouTube stands at $8,393, which is approximately 5M FCFA. This is just for YouTube alone and there are other platforms where the song was distributed.

Gasha thought the Pan-Africanism and musical chemistry they shared at the time will make Eddy Kenzo respect their agreement. Surprisingly, Eddy Kenzo is sitting on all the income generated from the chill song.

It's been almost 10 years and Gasha is still to receive a dime from him. Gasha has run out of patience after the efforts made by her were snubbed. 🥺

"That's awesome! If he can pay me even some of the money they made off my hit song #chill , it will be even better. They stole my rights and have kept quiet till date. attempted to fix it, they pretended they wanted to fix it, and went mute. Sometimes people do great things to be admired by others, but they break serious principles in real life which cripples others. He is feeding Orphans, beautiful but sometimes can't feed the ones love, and he's sitting on my millions. God will judge this matter."~~~Gasha made this comment under a post they made praising the Ugandan Singer's charity efforts. It didn't end there as she also made several revelations in an interview via Dash Media TV.

"Eddy Kenzo Stole My money. He made over $400K( 243.4M FCFA) from one platform. At one time it was his best selling project. He put his name as the main Artist of our song Chill and removed my name. I paid $2,000 for the collaboration, people think it was free. I paid for the rights to his voice and i had 100% ownership. He came to our house and we shot the video, i was not putting business in front because i could not imagine that he was a business shark and he had ulterior motives"

This means Eddy Kenzo owes Gasha hundreds of millions in Francs CFA. What a "vulturistic" move from the Ugandan artist.
