Le Ministre des Enseignements Secondaires, le Professeur Nalova Lyonga, préside ce jour au Centre d'éducation à distance de son département ministériel, une réunion de coordination visant à faire l'état des lieux sur la reprise des cours pour le compte du 3ème trimestre et sur les préparatifs des examens officiels de la session 2024.

The meeting which takes place at the Distance Education Centre aims to assess class resumption for the third term as well as the state of preparedness for the upcoming session of official examinations.

🔴Soh Simplis accusé de tricherie par son ex direction !

À peine promu en élite one, Soh Simplis annonçait son départ du banc de touche de Nzuimanto avec pour motif "La recherche d'un nouveau challenge". Cependant on apprend qu'en fait il serait en froid avec sa direction, qui le Supconnerait d'avoir " truqué certains matchs durant cette saison".
Dans une correspondance assez incroyable on peut lire le Président du club l'accusé d'avoir amener au sein du club un joueur qui serait celui la par qui le trucage des matchs passe.
Une situation assez loufoque quand on pense qu'au lieu de jubiler la montée en élite, le club se lance dans des histoires qui pourraient entacher leur brillante saison.
En tout cas nous suivrons la suite de cette situation minutieusement.

On the other hand, The Nigerian market has the infrastructure to sell digital content. The highly innovative banking system in Nigeria is really robust and makes digital transactions very suitable, highly preferred, leaving EVERYONE being required to get a bank account and debit card.

This means everyone can subscribe and stream content digitally. Imagine a giant market with a potential of 50 million Spotify users, this means every upcoming artist hits the ground running with 100k monthly listeners. This is the real power of the Nigerian entertainment industry apart from its obvious high population.

To top it all, we can completely relate with Nigeria. Our region was once Nigeria for almost 50 years. We are Geographically close, speak the same official language and share cultural values. Content from West Africa has programmed us for decades.

We grew up listening to P Square, Style plus, 2 face, Timaya, Flavor, Banki W, Bracket etc. These songs programmed us and defined our urban music sound.

That’s why our community only listens to Afrobeats and we can breed pure afrobeats prodigies like Elisha k and Raizy. Also, Our movie industry is programmed by Nollywood, that is why the death of a Nollywood actor will completely hijack our Facebook feeds for days.

Equally, praise and worship in Our Churches has been completely programmed by Nigerian Gospel. Infact delete Naija Gospel from our churches and church service may not hold that Sunday.

My Point is, our community is culturally linked to West Africa and it’s even better because that’s the market that’s driving global showbiz. So, we must complete migrate to that Market.

When Salas and Leo started with that dream team from Buea, if they had gone towards west Africa instead of coming to Douala, I think we should have had better returns from them.

Today, Krys M gets 40 million views on a song on YouTube but over 75% of those views generate her Zero income because they are from Non-monetized Central Africa.

She gets 40million on a song but can’t even get 50k monthly listeners on Spotify, because she resides in a region which doesn’t even have a payment processing system to permit her fans to get a Spotify account and make her rich. It’s Quite unfortunate but that’s the reality in Francophone Africa.

#DidYouKnow Winston Elliot Scott wrote a book about his experience as an astronaut?

Scott was born on August 6, 1950, in Miami, Florida. Though schools desegregated after the Brown v. Board case in 1954, as Scott entered school, they were still segregated in Miami. In 1965, as Scott entered the tenth grade, he was transferred to Coral Gables Senior High School, his first integrated education. In 1968, he graduated and attended Florida State University.

In 1972, #WinstonScott graduated with a degree in music and entered Navy Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island. In August 1974, he graduated and served at the Naval Air Station in North Island, California. In 1978, Scott attended the Naval Postgraduate School at Monterey, California and earned a master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering two years later. In 1992, Scott applied to be an astronaut as he accumulated over 5,000 hours of flight time in twenty different military and civilian aircrafts.

In August 1992, #WinstonElliotScott was selected by NASA as an astronaut and reported to Johnson ****** e Center in Houston, Texas. On January 11, 1996, he served as a mission specialist and conducted two ****** e walks. During these ****** e walks he tested tools, techniques, and procedures were later utilized to build the International ****** e Station.

In 1999, Scott retired from both NASA and the Navy, where he attained the rank of Captain. He became the Vice President for Student Affairs and Associate Dean of Florida State University, College of Engineering. In 2006, Scott published “Reflections From Earth Orbit,” a semiautobiographical book that describes his experiences as a NASA astronaut. He shares his journey to go beyond the bonds of earth into outer ****** e to inspire others.

#DidYouKnow On December 18, 2006, Robert Lee Curbeam Jr. set a new single mission American ***** ewalk record when he completed four ***** e walks.

Curbeam was born on March 5, 1962, in Baltimore, Maryland. In 1980, he graduated from Woodlawn High School and received a nomination to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. In 1884, Curbeam graduated and later completed Naval Flight Officer training. He was assigned to the USS Forrestal where he served in the Mediterranean and Caribbean Seas, and the Artic and Indian Oceans.

In 1990, Curbeam graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, with a master’s degree in aeronautical engineering. In 1991, he completed Test Pilot School and reported to the Strike Aircraft Test Directorate in Patuxent River, Maryland. In August 1994, he returned to the Naval Academy as a Captain and instructor in the Weapons and Systems Engineering Department.

In December 1994, Curbeam was selected as a NASA astronaut candidate. After a year of training and evaluation, he was selected as an astronaut for future ***** e flight missions. On August 7, 1997, Curbeam participated in his first ***** eflight mission to test equipment for use on the future International ***** e Station. On December 9, he departed for his third ***** eflight mission, where he’d complete a record setting four ***** ewalks. A ***** ewalk, or extravehicular activity, is work done by an astronaut outside of the ***** ecraft. During these ***** ewalks, Curbeam helped install new electrical systems on the International ***** e Station.

In 2007, after thirteen years at NASA, #RobertCurbeam retired. He continues to speak at school and community events to inspire future astronauts to one day land on Mars.

#DidYouKnow that Yvonne Darlene Cagle has been the only African American female astronaut who served in the military?

Cagle was born on April 24, 1959, in West Point, New York. On July 20, 1969, she watched with her family as Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. This inspired her to leave her footprints on the moon one day. Her family later moved to Novato, California, where she attended Navato High School.

In 1977, she graduated and enrolled in San Francisco State University in San Francisco, California. In 1981, she graduated and was sponsored to attend medical school through the U.S. Air Force’s Health Professions Scholarship Program. In 1985, Cagle received her Doctorate in medicine and was commissioned as an officer in the Air Force.

In 1988, she became a certified flight surgeon from the School of Aerospace Medicine at Brooks Air Force Base in Texas. She was assigned to the 48th Tactical Hospital in the United Kingdom, where she logged numerous hours in a variety of aircrafts, providing medical support.

In May 1989, Cagle volunteered to serve as the Air Force medical liaison officer for the STS-30 Atlantis shuttle mission test. She provided contributed to ongoing studies on astronaut health and served as a consultant for ******* e telemedicine.

On May 1, 1996, Cagle was selected astronaut candidate. Though she was never selected for any ******* e missions, she designed medical protocols for astronauts in ******* e that are still followed today.

In 2008, #Cagle retired from the Air Force with the rank of Colonel. Though she never achieved her dream of reaching the moon, Cagle is still active with NASA and serves as their lead scientists on the Commercial Reusable Suborbital Research program.

« Seulement, 12 % de la valeur de l’uranium exporté est revenu au Niger »
« L’exploitation de l’uranium a nourri une corruption généralisée, observe l’historienne Gabrielle Hecht, dans son livre L’uranium africain (éd. Seuil, 2016). Pendant des décennies, les revenus tirés de l’uranium ont surtout servi à la construction d’immeubles clinquants à Niamey et à l’enrichissement personnel des membres du gouvernement. »

Si le Niger a largement contribué au développement de la puissance nucléaire de la France, on ne peut pas dire que cela soit réciproque. 15 % de l’uranium nécessaire aux centrales françaises provient encore du Niger mais 85 % des Nigériens n’ont toujours pas accès à l’électricité. Selon Raphaël Grandvaud, seulement 12 % de la valeur de l’uranium exporté est revenu à l’État nigérien. Pour Gabrielle Hecht, cette distorsion incarne « la perpétuation du privilège colonial ».

En 2013, dans un rapport sur les politiques extractivistes, l’association Oxfam a d’ailleurs montré comment Orano, ex-Areva, profitait de la situation. L’uranium nigérien représentait près de 30 % de la production du groupe français mais le Niger percevait seulement 7 % des versements d’Areva aux pays producteurs, notaient-ils. L’entreprise a su négocier des réductions d’impôt qui lui ont fait gagner plusieurs dizaines de millions d’euros. Sans compter la gratuité dont l’entreprise bénéficie pour prélever des millions de litres d’eau dans la nappe phréatique d’Agadez en plein désert.

En réalité, le pouvoir d’Orano au Niger est colossal. Au plus près des instances dirigeantes, l’entreprise est même suspectée de « corruption ». En 2014, elle offrait indirectement un avion présidentiel au chef de l’État nigérien Issoufou, ancien d’Areva. Dans le cadre de l’affaire Uraniumgate, révélée en 2017, on soupçonne aussi que certaines élites nigériennes aient pu bénéficier de rétrocommissions et de pots-de-vin. Issoufou est toujours dans le viseur de la justice. Il aurait touché pas moins de 3 millions de dollars.

1er février 1962. L'affaire du "train de la m'ort".

"Pour réduire la révolte de l'UPC, Jacques FOCCART crée le SDECE Afrique. La filiale camerounaise, le SEDOC, est dirigée par Jean FOCHIVE. Enfin, pour casser la rébellion ba'mileke, FOCCART envoie, à la demande du gouvernement camerounais, un corps expéditionnaire f'rançais sous la direction du général Max BRIAND.
En gare de Douala, un groupe de cinquante deux détenus, hommes, femmes et enfants est embarqué tôt le matin, le 1er février 1962, dans un wagon métallique dont la porte est verrouillée. Quand le train arrive à Yaoundé au début de la soirée, l'asphyxie a fait son œuvre : le gendarme qui ouvre le wagon découvre vingt cinq ca'davres".

Connais-tu ton pays ? Les chutes de la métché

Les chutes de la Métché sont une série de cascades situées dans l'arrondissement de Mbouda, dans la région de l'Ouest du Cameroun. Non loin de Bafoussam. Sert de frontière entre le Mifi et le Bamboutos.
C’est un lieu sacré pour les populations locales; un lieu de sacrifice pour "enlever la malédiction" et "lamenter le mort". C’est aussi un lieu d’éxécution.

A l’entrée du site, on retrouve au sol du sel, des pièces de monnaie, de l'huile de palme et même des repas. C’est aussi en ce lieu que les nationalistes camerounais étaient tués durant la période coloniale.

Je suis allé me recueillir aux encablures des chutes de la Metché en hommage aux valeureux nationalistes camerounais qui y ont perdu la vie, notamment Jacob Fossi.

La France a livré une guerre cruelle contre les nationalistes camerounais, même le Napalm aurait été utilisé pour mater ceux-ci. On parle de centaines de milliers de morts. Un quasi génocide.

Elle utilisait plusieurs méthodes pour mater les nationalistes : incendies de village, **** assinats ciblés, tortures à mort, exécutions sommaires ou même propulsion des nationalistes dans des cours d’eau afin qu’on ne retrouve jamais les corps.

Jacob Fossi est l'un des prisonniers nationalistes du mouvement politique UPC; mort dans les chutes de la Métché. En juin 1956, il est arrêté par l’armée française. Un an après cette interpellation, il est conduit aux chutes de la métche pour être exécuté.

Le jour de son exécution programmée et connaissant le sort qui lui sera réservé, il prépare un subterfuge pour emporter l'un de ses bourreaux dans sa chute.

Ils étaient plusieurs à attendre en rang à leur tour. Alors que les soldats français s’apprêtent à jeter dans les chutes celui qui le précède dans le rang; Jacob Fossi proteste vigoureusement et exige d’être jeté le premier dans les chutes. En réalité, Jacob Fossi a déjà tout préparé et veut préserver la vie des autres nationalistes qui l'accompagnent.

Alors que ses bourreaux s’apprêtent à le propulser du haut des chutes de la Métché, il propose à ces derniers de leur révéler les noms et cachettes de d’autres nationalistes camerounais recherchées.

Les soldats le détachent. Les mains libérées de ses chaînes, Jacob Fossi s’accroche au gendarme français André Houtarde et plonge dans les chutes.Leurs corps ne seront jamais retrouvés.

A travers ce geste de sacrifice ultime il mit fin aux exécutions des nationalistes depuis les chutes de la Métché. La France décida d’arrêter cette pratique. Le nationaliste qui fut sauvé de la mort parce que Jacob Fossi avait décidé de prendre sa place, lui resta éternellement reconnaissant et donna le nom Jacob Fossi à son enfant, en hommage cet homme courageux qui s’est sacrité pour eux.

La fille de Jacob Fossi qui avait 2 ans au moment où son père fut arrêté, raconte la tragique histoire de son père dans un livre intitulé : « Les profondes blessures d’une chute ». Il raconte la vie d’une femme brisée. C’est en 1999 à l’âge de 46 ans qu’elle apprend l’histoire de son père. Sa mère avait gardé ce secret enfoui, malgré le temps; elle avait toujours peur des représailles.
